Anahi is an expert in accountability, community engagement and MDH. Over the past 16 years she has worked in humanitarian emergencies to set up and manage complex multi-country feedback and complaints mechanisms, systems to track and respond to misinformation, and large community engagement programs. Anahi is also a thought leader on the uses and applications of technology for development, human rights and humanitarian response, having worked for organizations like the World Bank, UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF and Internews, to support them in understanding their approach to the use of social media, AI and mobile phones.

In her career, Anahi has developed best practices to help international and local NGOs and United Nations agencies develop and implement communication, engagement and participation programs, including conducting research, designing assessments and surveys, developing Social and Behavioural Change communication strategies, and proving recommendations to higher management on how to embed inputs from communities into their own decision-making. Anahi has also worked for the past 10 years on Misinformation, Disinformation and Hate Speech (MDH), more recently providing high level strategic recommendations to organizations like USAID, FCDO, the Government of the Netherlands, the Canadian Foreign Affairs office and the CDAC Network, on understanding the impact of MDH in conflict.

Anahi holds two Masters’ Degrees, one in Human Rights from the University of Padua, in Italy, and one in International Affairs from Columbia University, in New York. In addition to holding a BA in Political Science from the University of Bologna, Anahi is currently pursuing her 4th degree, in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
