Vanessa is a Social Behavioral Change and Communication specialist. She holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology and has more than 14 years of experience in human rights, social research and communication in local governments, non-governmental organizations, the European Parliament and the United Nations.
She has designed, implemented and evaluated strategic policies adopting a cross-sectoral approach and broadened the scope of cultural and social diversity in local policies. She has contributed to diplomacy tasks and drafted policy analysis, briefings and reports about human rights’ situation in the Middle East and North Africa region.
With UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnership Division of UNICEF, she has carried out research on children´s ethical and respectful imagery in the humanitarian sector focusing on topics such as extreme poverty, malnutrition and white saviorism.
