Nikka Gerona is a Climate Reality Leader and UNICEF Advocacy Champion from the Philippines. She has significantly contributed to international organizations, working with UNICEF and UNDP on impactful campaigns and global initiatives. As a co-chair of the UNICEF EAPRO Young People’s Action Team, she has supported regional advocacy within ASEAN.
Additionally, she serves on the Youth Advisory Panel of the Global Center on Adaptation, where she conducts research on National Adaptation Plans, and develops youth engagement resources. Her role in YOUNGO, the Official Youth Constituency of the UNFCCC, underscores her commitment to advancing climate action through communication and storytelling. Nikka has represented the Philippines at high-level climate change and youth conferences, helping shape the Global Youth Statement and amplifying youth voices.
She was a Youth Fellow at UNICEF Innocenti, researching climate breakthroughs and co-designing the Leading Minds Conference on Climate in Italy. Currently, she is pursuing an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management to further strengthen her foundation in climate policy.
